Ya in their mind they are just "temporarily embarrassed billionaires" without processing the fact that a billion is literally a thousand times more than a million

Could not agree more. What's worse is I have some friends RL that go "they should get it, they took the risk, put in the work, etc." I agree they should get rewarded, but zoom out for a second...assume you're an employee at one of those employees, and have done really well -- net worth $10m. They're still worth 84500x more than you. 🤯 Helps put things in perspective. Did they really put THAT much more work/take THAT many risks over the $10m employee? 

Also hot take, but I also think a lot of that mentality stems from low self worth which is pretty sad.
