The only "crypto villain from a previous era" who deserves a path to redemption is Mark Karpeles @MagicalTux - precisely because he's the only one who's not clamoring for attention asking for one. He's just quietly doing interesting stuff.

Karpeles wasn't malicious, at worst he was just incompetent

Also it must have been insanely difficult running a BTC exchange in 2013, given the limited tech stack at the time, and basically being in a regulatory no man's land

The more malicious they tend to be louder screaming they did nothing wrong and trying harder to weasel their way back into public favor 🤔
