Iโ€™m a musician exploring blockchain streaming platforms like Audius and Disctopia to generate revenue. Curious to hear other takes on how to monetize music in Web3โ€”whatโ€™s working for you? โœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’™

I never actually minted on any of these platforms but instead chose to mint editions on @manifoldxyz You can write/own your own contracts when minting on manifold, not sure if that's a thing on soundxyz and other apps. discoverability is what they offer that manifold can't though, so if you can bring your own audience places, manifold is great, if you want your music to be seen by a higher amount of people, soundxyz and platforms other than manifold are the move for sure

Yeah Iโ€™ve mostly seen people mint visual art/videos on manifold, but I could see it working well for music too. Gives you more control over the contract in the long run, but like @seanmundy is saying, it has struggled on the distribution side
