If it makes you feel any better, I introduced chess to my boyfriend about 5 years ago. He became hooked and is now a chess teacher. I haven't beaten him in at least 4 years (never bothered to study). The good part is that I always know where he is. If he's not with me, he's on ChessBase hahaha.
