Definitely needs more love! Their currently implementation is closest to subreddits but in the context of a Twitter-like feed.

The 2500 warp cost (~$25/yr) started initially to discourage mass squatting. It's unclear if there will be a cost associated in the future but as it stands channels have been a one time fee only; the annual renewal fee has not been collected.

Also thanks for the nudge to add @stevengarxia as a member of /steve . I manage several channels and am admittedly a neglectful owner/moderator.

I have some drastic suggestions for the team to overhaul the concept, as the moderation model has been a major pain point for veteran and new users alike.

I might flesh out the writing one of these days!

well said on channels being subreddit but twitter feed for consumption. I do like channels, it's a good sense of community.
