Anyone else sometimes feel imposter syndrome… as a Farcaster user?

I know not everyone is a founder, dev, artist, pm, etc but the high density of builders here sometimes makes me feel like I’m moving too slowly.

What is normally inspirational is now feeling like a reminder of everything I’m not working on. 🫠

As a fellow Googler, I sometimes feel similarly but I wouldn't call it imposter syndrome, more like FOMO.

As a SWE I see all the tech non-Googlers use that I don't really get to use and the myriad of small projects people put out there.

It's such a different scale.

I can see the case for FOMO, as I felt that when I was a SWE.

Now a UXE, I feel more at home with my ladder but my specific role is where I feel like the imposter. I'm aware of my potential and the feeling of being nimble, yet in my day-to-day work I feel sluggish.

So seeing fast movers is where I struggle a bit.

For months I’ve mulled over an art project in my fleeting moments of free time.

Due to it being entirely onchain and relatively novel, it has to be nearly perfect to deploy. My mistake has been not writing more to at least inch towards progress.

However, a hackathon also sounds fantastic. Thank you for the idea!

Pick up a side project if you have time, join a time bound hackathon if you don't. That's what I did when I started feeling that way at Google, and about a year later I left because the company I was working on really needed me full time. If they didn't, I would've remained happy spending a few hours a week on it.
