maybe the cost was part of the art. I paid around $500 to deploy my first serious contract. I remember gas golfing my own derivative over Loot Weekend only to realize I couldn't deploy it for less than $2000. you had to take it more seriously. now it's like setting up a website.

yea i think that’s very valid. also an element to where “fully on-chain” feels a little less valid when it’s not on mainnet. some of the purity lost
