I was at college orientation for my oldest kid. Was a successful few days. She’s ready to go. Enjoyed lunch with my husband and daughter, by the lake, after the humidity finally broke and temps cooled a bit

I was gonna say something about a bird finally using its wings and then I noticed one flying in the photo. Exciting time for your family!

Good eye! 🪽Exciting times for sure. I’m shocked how emotional I’ve been the past few months because I’m generally pretty stoic and unsentimental but this one is getting to me

I can imagine the journey getting to this moment felt both like a lifetime and a blink of an eye!

I remember my orientation like it was yesterday and am grateful my mom was there. Makes me look to ~16 years from now once it's my son's turn.

I can rationalize it all now but I'll be a wreck when the time comes 😆
