Bringing the world onchain with fast finality.

At Scroll, we believe math and cryptographic proofs create trust and consensus in a world where trust is tough to build and easy to destroy.

Put simply, Scroll is an open-source community and platform built upon those principles.

Our vision has been unchanged since the day that Scroll was conceived: provide equitable access to a globally distributed network of applications and services to everyone, everywhere on our vast planet.

The first chapter of Scroll began in Ethereum research forums.

Through an open-source effort, we built the most EVM-compatible zkRollup with with the shortest finality and highest uptime.

We created an experience with 10x lower fees & higher throughput, securing over $1 billion of liquidity and saving users over $400M in transaction fees.

Now, the world is facing a very different problem; blockspace is abundant and affordable, yet our industry is largely competing for the same pool of onchain users.

Across the world, over five billion people urgently need trustworthy and reliable financial access, with the freedom to transfer funds therein.

By improving onchain user experiences and expanding our reach to real users worldwide, we aim to unlock the full potential of decentralized applications and services for billions, bringing meaningful financial solutions and onchain experiences to everyone, everywhere.

From day one, we knew that building a protocol for human coordination required more than just tech—it needed a strong social fabric. 

In 2024 alone, we’ve worked hands-on with various communities across 50 cities and four continents. Scroll is committed to empowering local builders, connecting talent, and providing onchain access to everyone.

We built our organization intentionally around this global mission, with team members spanning 30 regions across five continents.

We are allowing the best talent, tools, and data resources to inform us as we provide localized, informative support to meet users and builders precisely where they are today.

How do we plan to do build a solid foundation for global distribution? 

We have three core pillars that are being built actively:

• Security and Performance, without sacrificing either
• Decentralization
• Multi-chain Readiness

Just as paper scrolls, the printing press, radio, television, and the internet provided broader access to information and knowledge exponentially, our ambition at Scroll is to extend Ethereum's innovations to an audience across spatial and temporal barriers—delivering accessible and immutable value in this new era of global development.
