I wish that when I gift someone a FC account that I could curate their onboarding experience (suggested follows, suggested channels etc)

I would say that the path of least resistance there could be a frame that you tag someone in after you get the welcome noti letting you know they used your link. Also if the frame linked to a full site and/or channel in WC to provide a guided experience for beginners. @degenduckynft aims to help in with onboarding soon
