Feels like there is a parable in here somewhere about perceived urgency. You set up the AI, it improves your life massively, and one day you learn that the AI just picked 0-1 things at random each day

Haha yes, like the story of the troop that got lost in some mountains and managed to get to safety with the help of a map they had, only it turned out to be completely the wrong map.

Exactly! And it will be ambiguous whether this was a) a bug, b) a correct interpretation by the ai, or c) it thought it was supposed to do that because it read all of those parables
