If you have a mainnet ENS, /base names are not necessarily for you. You might want one to identify/reverse resolve Base-only addresses you control. The unlock with /base subdomains is that reverse resolution can be handled for Base-native accounts. Also folks that aren't on mainnet or want to manage their presence with lower fees can now do that.
