I was hoping you would say some new tool similar to figma but with cursor-like features. Cursor is great at implementing design to code. Unless its just for prototyping though, conceptually the design through cursor doesn't go as well. At the very least, I have to use excalidraw to mock up the UI first

Point being figma isn’t needed !!! You need idea in your head and tool to build!! You can use pen paper to mock and ask cursor (anthropic) to start from there

Yeah for some projects. That can get you far but still not good enough yet to stop using figma. Ideally I want to mock up in excalidraw, import into figma and let AI transform it into high fidelity design, go back and forth with it to refine the details, branding and wiring, and then export to cursor to build the functionality and everything else out.
