One of the coolest things about reading my grandfather’s memoirs from WWII is when he mentions the name of a ship he was on and I can cross reference to Wikipedia He wrote about being aboard his ship, the Peter H Burnett on Dec 1, 1945 in Sasebo harbor Japan, and sure enough it checks out “Following the Japanese surrender in 1945, P. H. Burnett remained in the Pacific theater until ordered to return to the United States early in 1946. On 20 April 1945, she left Hollandia for Manila with Convoy GI 22.[6]” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_P.H._Burnett
