Title: TinaB0x-102324-6 This work is part of my Trauma in a Box series—a deeply personal collection reflecting on trauma, memory, and transformation. It was created using found objects, discarded toys, and fragmented elements that symbolize fractured identities, lost innocence, and the chaotic process of healing. Each object tells a story, a relic from a past that refuses to be forgotten, yet is reconstructed into something new. 👇

What is your favorite element of this piece and why? My favorite element is the interplay between artificial perfection and broken reality. The doll’s face—pristine yet displaced—contrasts against a fragmented landscape of forgotten items, creating tension between childhood nostalgia and the harshness of experience. The transparency of the box acts as both a container and a display, forcing the viewer into the uncomfortable role of voyeur, witness, and participant in this suspended moment of disarray.

How long did it take you to create this piece? This particular piece took several weeks to complete, involving the intuitive selection of discarded materials, their chaotic arrangement, and the final encasement. However, the Trauma in a Box series as a whole has been in the making for over five years. It emerged through a continuous flow of collecting, sculpting, deconstructing, and repurposing materials—mirroring my personal journey of healing and therapy. The process itself became a cathartic act, as sculptures were built and then destroyed to create these encapsulated boxes, preserving fragments of an evolving self.
