📰 According to Crypto media reports, Japanese tech giant Sony Group has acquired Crypto Amber Japan to enter the cryptocurrency market. Wu Blockchain first reported the deal, later confirmed by Block.

Terms of the deal are not disclosed. Sony, actively investing in Web3, is now making a significant move into the cryptocurrency market. The company had previously partnered with Astar Network and filed a patent for transferring NFTs between games and consoles.

Amber Japan, formerly known as DeCurret, was acquired by Amber Group in 2022 and renamed. Bloomberg reported that Amber Group planned to sell its Japanese unit due to strict regulations in the country.
