According to Bloomberg, a group of Democratic senators including Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse and Richard Blumenthal sent a letter asking the US Department of the Treasury and the Department of Justice to investigate the connection between President Donald Trump and the Binance exchange. The letter raised concerns about Trump-related digital assets and their role in financial transactions with Binance, especially after news that Abu Dhabi-based fund MGX invested $2 billion in Binance through the USD1 stablecoin. The senators also asked for clarity on whether Binance is seeking amnesty for former CEO Changpeng Zhao, as well as plans to exit the U.S. market and the possibility of listing new stablecoins. The deadline for responses from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice is before May 21.
