Renault R17 Electric Restomod

Renault has unveiled (https://media.renault.com/r17-electric-restomod-x-ora-ito-the-iconic-renault-17-becomes-a-stylish-restomod-by-ora-ito/) a concept electric car based on the R17 model, released in 1971.

When creating the show car, French designer Ito Morabito tried to emphasize its dual nature: the car retained the original lines and shape of the glazing on the outside, but received a body made of modern carbon fiber.

The interior, on the contrary, looks modern and very retro-futuristic, but is made of the same materials as the interior of the original R17.

Little is known about the technical stuffing, except that we have an electric car with a 270 hp engine and a range of just over four hundred kilometers.

The show car exists in a single copy. The company does not plan to launch the updated R17 into production.
