a) Tracking Transaction Status 

Live tracking helps you validate a transaction's authenticity. You are assured of settlement from one address to another. 

You can also validate sender and receiver addresses on Etherscan

2/ Understand on-chain metrics of your favourite ERC-20 tokens. 

All ERC-20 tokens have a unique smart contract address. 
 
On the contract address page on Etherscan, you can see: 
- Price
- Fully diluted market cap
- Max total supply
- Holders

3/ Etherscan also gives you a macro picture of how the Ethereum network performs over time

Here is a chart of Daily active addresses on Ethereum; this includes Ethereum's on-chain and on and off-ramp transactions (from CEX to MetaMask or vice-versa)
