Watching things try to be funded outside of the cryptosphere is so frustrating. This Brazilian dev is building a Bluesky TikTok and only wants to raise enough funds to run appview servers (around $10k) and yet, despite having been featured in TechCrunch, he’s raised less than $2k. 

In crypto, folks will willfully burn $2k on a token they are certain will fail. Or thousands people will all buy multiple open editions for $1, knowing there will never be a market for resale. We’re used to participating in culture and development. It’s one of our strengths.

This is why I love this tech and why I use it. But I already know that if this person accepts crypto, many Bluesky people will turn on them. As such, I can’t pretty much guarantee they won’t. 

So please consider donating a couple bucks. I’m sure the code will be open sourced and may even be of use to future FC/Lens clients.
