Hey @ccarella.eth really interested in this topic and how we drive long-term and sustainable engagement but doesn’t this speak volumes to where the industry at. Over-indexed investment compared to innovation. It’s early and so fragmented that if you want to innovate it’s hard to make people sticky because there is so much $$$ to be made from the next shiny thing or new acquisition campaign incentives. Intrigued to get your view on the capital perhaps been an issue here… Also if not across already could be interesting to speak to @salmanneedsajob.eth about GitPOAP for recognising repo contributions on open-source projects

I don’t think we are over-indexed on investment. I think upgrading the internet to have native money and coordination mechanics is a huge undertaking that requires massive capital investment and I think we are probably under indexed as a whole. I mean look at what is happening in AI. I do think we need to get smarter about deploying funds and measuring what’s working. It’s not as simple as just copying web2 which had the huge advantage of massive capital investment from the U.S. Government. We also have new financial primitives that require new ideas around investment like investing in pure public goods but reaping returns as an investor via Retrofundin they receive. So tldr; not enough investment in the space and not enough experimentation on how to deploy the capital we have.
