The car I first learned to drive on was a Suzuki Omni. I was 14 and where I grew up, there are no traffic laws or driver license checks. The engine is right under the driver and smokes when you drive it hard. Fwiw makes you a better driver in the grand scheme of things. 

The first car I bought was a 2002 RAV4, right after college. Did multiple cross country road trips with it, made it into a camper with a full bed (picture in reply).

The first car that was an impulse buy was a 1994 NA Mazda Miata. Best stick shift (picture in reply).

The first car, I bought it in 2020 and still driving.

I was looking for it for 6 months, while using car share rental services here in UAE.

Glad I didn't listen to many suggesting to buy a simpler car first, and then once more confident get the one I liked.

I got licence in Ukraine in 2011, but didn't drive till 2019 when I got a license again, but  in UAE.

I started driving through car share rentals first, I think I scratched one car a little during 6 months period before I bought mine, so that gave me a basic experience and confidence.

I think it's normal to be afraid of accidents, noone wants them, but after few (and I hope it's minor) you get used to. It's an experience.

The reality, regardless how well you drive, it can happen  because of someone as well.
