In 2018, the famous British artist Banksy sold one of his most iconic artworks, "Girl with Balloon", at a major auction. The painting sold for $1.4 million, and everyone was applauding... When suddenly, right in front of everyone’s eyes, the artwork started shredding itself from inside the frame! A hidden shredder was built into the frame, and as soon as the sale was finalized, it activated and partially shredded the piece. The auction house was shocked, the audience stunned, and Banksy commented: “The urge to destroy is also a creative urge.” Later, the half-shredded piece was given a new name: "Love is in the Bin" And interestingly, despite being “damaged,” its value skyrocketed. In 2021, it sold again for $25 million! A piece that was destroyed... became the next masterpiece. In the world of art, sometimes destroying is a form of creating.

I loved it. I watched EXIT THROUGH the GIFT SHOP a years prior to that incident and I expected something like that to happen when I heard that an auction of a Banksy piece of art would be sold in a auction house like Sotheby's.
