pretty cool that the election has spurred my /all-in groupchat to talk more about blockchain β first w/ @polymarket and now w/ voting: "can someone steelman why voting should not be done via blockchain?" the answers are switching costs, implementation, security, etc. someone said privacy to which zk was the reply.

Public Key private key distribution to each individual is the hard last mile imo If not every citizen has a private key that truely is private and secure the voting will be shit

plus an AI agent will just offer to buy someone's vote "hey bob I see you're not using your vote so I'll amazon ship you a case of beer and those DVDs you like if you'll sign this transaction here..." "what DVDs? What do you mean" "You know what I mean, Bob." <pause> "ok, where do I sign?"

The mechanism for the siganture to be approved is part of that last mile. If that's too automated the points you raise stand
