Anyone running k8s clusters at home? what do you use as servers? Raspberry PIs and then just use many to get high core count? Need around 8-16 cores for the intended workload and would love to replicate across 2 homes for redundancy. Preferably x86 with some RAM as well

for reference Gigabyte GB-BEi7HS-1260 12 Cores up to 64GB Ram is a dream. 500$ price tag so ~ 3 PI 4 8GB depending on timing of purchase. Doesn't sound too out of place

Oh no I missed that news 😭😭😭 but either way I feel liked you'd get more longevity out of a NUC than raspi - I have one that's been in service 24/7 since 2018, only issue I've had was I had to replace the fan in it abt a year ago because I got a little aggressive cleaning it w/ compressed air
