Getting more and more convinced that a Zulip/Slack style simple messaging UI (with Widgets/Mini Apps & AI context for notifications, prompts etc) and a calendar are the only two panes needed for a true productivity champion app Everything like gant charts, todo lists etc should be widgets in where you talk about it (messaging) and easily displayed or accessible from where you organize (calendar) File uploads and file shares and external sources like Code Issues, Code, Marketing etc all should be one tap away via widgets and if APIs are there data integrated and shown in widgets or AI prompts Maybe a third pane is a AI voice + text input so you can perplexity.ai style ask about all you want and need in your realm of data access

You’re probably right If they were smart, Slack would cut out all of the fluff and reduce down to this A different perspective is that work software should only be focused on work - in which case Linear would take the cake for me. Bonus points if they added calendar view instead of their timeline / gantt chart view

Coincidentally, Campsite just open sourced their codebase https://x.com/_ryannystrom/status/1878931060438003712?s=61
