any recommendations for cursor-type ai powered code editors? extra bonuses if i can plug in my own api keys and *especially* if it has a good agent mode have mostly used cursor and windsurf so far but wanna find something I really like even more before i'd consider subscribing to one

you can use any AI api keys. but it’s a regular fast editor with inline and the assistant. doesn’t have compose features but you could likely use the command line AI that does multi file editing for you. On large scale apps I plan to maintain long term, I personally gotta review each AI change at some point so the act of copy pasting into the file itself is a good forcing function for me to be 💯sure this is the cleanest way I’d have written anything. for what it’s worth i did very little hand coding on my personal site but i’m not running a multi millions dollar business with payments on it in the future.

I still need to setup deepseek locally. anyone done that yet? also fwiw, the zed AI which is claude 3.5 sonnet zed version is very generous so I've almost not had to pay anything additional. ref if you want to raycast: https://www.raycast.com/hey/19628224

I had deepseek locally with ollama and it wasn't as good as claude for me
