Bad startup advice, unfortunately. 

Only thing that matters early stage is product and distribution.

If we consider marketing as “spending money on ads to get more people”, 100% agreed.

But marketing is a way broader topic, at least the way we study it in France, and distribution is part of it.

If nobody knows you exist, nobody will use your product. 💜

community
brand
product
collabs
pr
ads
research (data/stats)

there’s a thin line between some of these and other departments (collabs-BD for example). But some are irreplaceable

To be clear, I am not saying that’s what @v said.
I just don’t see how you would dismiss marketing and then value distribution in the same cast.
But maybe that’s something lost in translation on my side.
