"Why are you back here?" the supervisor asked.  

“There’s a mistake,” I said, pointing to the misaligned section of the bridge.  

Even though the crew had left, I stayed to double-check. Sure enough, the measurements were off. With the supervisor’s help, we corrected it before it could cause bigger problems.  

That’s the job fixing things before they go wrong.
