the contract is in "challenge mode" for the next 24 hours. mostly a way to prevent me from stealing the prize pool, but prize can be distributed by anyone this time tomorrow (i'll do it if nobody gets to it first)

congrats to @basement5k.eth for winning the basedketball grand prize! the prize pool ended up at almost exactly 1 eth. a really impressive bracket scoring 165 out of 192 possible points the fully onchain image of the bracket will live on forever in infamy

yeah sry it’s busted and am slow to update winners / points tn! was hard to be certain I was consuming the data api correctly without live data for pre-tournament testing, worked well til tonight. but that’s also why I went with manual updates onchain in case something like this happened

pretty annoying, ppl will cheat, ppl will submit bad data and try to mint nonsense, got really frustrated with ipfs pinning services. its still playable but tbh ppl abusing really soured me on the project (and people). like you just wanna do something lightweight and fun and ppl grief it speedtracer.xyz

what I did and might work is generated an SVG image server side and pinned to ipfs, and then returned that ipfs hash to the client, alongside a signed payload with like the score and hash. Then the nft contract verified the signed payload when the user minted the nft

yeah the bird! i was all excited that it was a sign i was about to get an eagle, but no i ended up getting par on that hole. i would like to see both more birds (the animal) and birds (the score) on my outings

been touching grass a lot this weekend 1. 3D and physics are hard 2. gemini 2.5 is the best at this all 3. building games like this is fun, really need to get creative with math (i did actually touch grass yesterday too, played 22 holes of real golf, saw a bald eagle 🦅)
