Feels like crypto is trending heavily toward either “definite pessimism” (aka PvP nihilism) or “indefinite optimism” (“bring the world onchain”) according to the Thiel matrix. We need more definite optimism.

crypto needs realistic expectations. i mean everyone has such unrealistic expectations and when things dont go their way they think "Scam" bla bla. even when onboarding new users here on farcaster, showing them the 300$ rewards is unrealistic. When they cant make it or get the $5 they will be disheartened. I saw one user say that farcaster is easy for new people to enter into and make it. They took one account as an example saying this one joined three days ago and is number 300 something. see. but that is not realistic. That account got a welcome from a few bigger accounts. even dwr quoted their cast. We need a realistic image. Farcaster is awesome and a good place to earn in and thrive as a part of the community, but its only for those who want to be here long term. Not only to make a quick buck.

Same is the case with crypto. its not a get rich quick scheme but many people think of it like that. in reality we have to work harder here, the learning curve is very steep, and the risk is higher. going to university and acing exams and trying for jobs and surviving there is hard too but this is way way harder. The sitting with one device at home and getting rich is a very misleading image.
