Holding on to your past traumas and traumatic events only amplifies the pain with time when you can’t really eliminate the source. Either get out of the toxic environment eliminating any source of trauma or forget your past and move on which is really hard and probably impossible to do.

You don’t have to forget your past. You come to peace with what happened, acknowledge how it affected you and make sure to put your needs first. You will always come first. Don’t give in to patterns you learned while growing up. They were for survival and you are not in that environment anymore.

Forgive and forget is very bad advice. You accept what happened without judgement. Acceptance doesn’t mean what happened was right.
