Un Bien for insanely good Caribbean roast sandwiches. More of a takeaway spot but my favorite restaurant in town by far.

Nice! I don’t think I’ve been - did they have a split with Paseo or it was a former employee or something - I feel like the two are linked

If I remember correctly they’re either brothers or father and son.

I just googled and Un Bein is the sons of the former owner of Paseo which declared bankruptcy and shut down in 2014 only to be resurrected by some guy who bought the biz but not the recipes (though he did hire all the former employees minus the sons)

That’s what it was. I still haven’t been to Paseo. Un Bien is fire though… I try not to call it the best sandwich I’ve ever had so people don’t go there with insane expectations, but it is definitely the best sandwich I’ve ever had.

As a fellow sandwich lover that’s some high bar - for full transparency I’ve had the paseo Cuban and wasn’t wowed. But it was height of the pandemic and delivery so I can give them a pass as shit was hard in 2020. I’ll def try Un Bein tho - stoked!

Fair enough. I’ve only tried their Caribbean roast and have been unable to order anything else because it’s so good.
