Do you think consciousness always has the desire to persist? Can there be a consciousness that is ambivalent to its existence?

Consciousness creates the illusion that your death is the end of all things, so the stakes in death appear higher to the individual. It’s not totally clear that an AI would need that mechanism to want to persist. AIs will also have fast, large scale replicability so that might change its perception of permanence.
