If you were BDFOWF, what would you have us work on? 

BDFOWF = benevolent dictator for one warpcast feature

As farcaster's benevolent dictator, I would make all non-protocol enshrined state (e.g. mod features on channels, DMs, etc.) also available via an API

wholeheartedly agree with the playbook of progressive decentralization (in the interest of speed) — but it gives devs ability to build on it in the interim

i understand. but i think a centralized (expected to change often) version would still be great for experimentation purposes

We haven't figured out the shape of the feature yet, e.g. channels

So any API is now something we have to support, let people know

Once we know what we want to decentralize, we will likely offer an API version first, then decentralized.
