This is an interesting article comparing outcomes for those diagnosed at a young age vs others with same symptoms but not diagnosed.  Those diagnosed had worse outcomes. I also wonder about the multicultural aspect of the study as it has tended to be white boys who get diagnosed. Kids of colour get labeled as 'naughty' which I can't believe leads to better outcomes. Also teachers dare I say it, perhaps rebelling against diagnosis so making it worse rather than better for the child?
