Not quite that but in Animal Languages a couple of studies were seen less scientific because they weren’t the traditional approach, they were structured and design by women who were trying to understand things differently. One of them as Jane Goodall, it took a while for her studies to be considered “scientific”

She talks about this in her book. Dr Leakey who sent her out to the Gorillas was very forward thinking to see how her approach would bring new thinking and ideas. I also didn’t know her mum went with her to the jungle!!
