In the 2010s, the video game world witnessed the rise in popularity of overnight releases. This event has become a real tradition when gamers gathered in stores an hour before the official release of the expected games.
The overnight releases created an atmosphere of celebration and anticipation, allowing fans not only to receive the game in the first minutes after its release, but also to chat with other players.
Stores such as GameStop and other retailers organized special events dedicated to the release of major titles. 
The most significant releases of this period were such games as "Call of Duty", "Grand Theft Auto V", "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and "Pokemon GO".
However, with the development of technologies such as digital distribution and streaming services, interest in overnight releases began to fade. More and more players prefer to download games directly on their consoles or PCs.
