Basically, it doesn’t seem like people have selfish urges and that’s their natural tendency—people aren’t like, “Oh, I’m going to clamp down on those selfish urges and be a nice guy for reputation.” It seems like the instinct is to be nice, to be pro-social,... , and it takes work to be like, “No I’m going to be an economist now and be a jerk.” 35 replies
