Morgoth gathered his servants and built a mighty fortress in Angband. The race of Orcs thrived and multiplied in the depths of the earth. Melkor named himself the King of the World and placed the Silmarils in his crown as a symbol of his dominion. And though the weight of this crown was unbearable, he removed it from his head only once. #TheSilmarillion
