Can Ethereum exist without ETH? If we were to use CBDCs to pay for gas, would governments be friendlier to the ecosystem?

Good point! Are commodity prices regulated for inflation? Would such an analogy even be proper?

Not sure if the inflation control would be accepted by the government of the way gas works. Theoretically / technically speaking it's not possible
