Great question. I was an early adopter of VR back when the Vive first launched. 

Here's why it didn't work for me:

1. Comfort (hot, can't easily hit buttons, 30+ mins is tough)
2. Makes me motion sick (I sometimes make myself sick in race cars irl too)
3. Vive specifically was just too blurry
4. Comfort
