This is a large oil painting by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, completed in 1907. Part of the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection, this painting depicts five naked prostitutes in a tenement on Carrer d'Avinyó (Calle de) in Barcelona. Avion [es]). None of the figures are conventionally feminine, and each is depicted in an unsettlingly aggressive manner.
