That’s brilliant, I like the idea of a simplified version of the chorus. It’s like a quick snapshot of the song. 

I usually find myself playing a little melody with the first few chords of the song or something simple like that. But lately I’ve been trying to enhance my intros and outros a bit more.

Since I'm mostly writing for sync, I keep my intros pretty simple. Maybe a little bit of talking or a simplified version of the chorus. What's your usual go to?

Intros/outros are weirdly some of my favorite things to write. Choruses are probably my favorite but I love the opportunity that intros/outros can provide - capturing a listener from the first few seconds, and leaving them with something to feel/think about in the last few seconds or minute of a song. Powerful stuff!
