one can’t outsource growth at the beginning of a product life cycle. 

think about it, if the “growth” person hired does it better than the founders, 

they can start their own company and do even better with way higher incentives.

This is assuming the product is a commodity, in which case the main skill of the founders is marketing and fundraising.
