first draft of the itm campaign protocol whitepaper is live. most importantly this formalizes a product at the protocol level that is being used to power moments for thousands of people already. itm.studio/whitepaper

the protocol relies on erc1155s, soulbound tokens and signature minting to create the primitive of an onchain system of record via what we call keys. keys are the atomic units of brand-consumer interactions. attending an event gets you a key, purchasing a product gets you a key, etc etc

inspired by @vitalik.eth’s blog post from 2022 on SBTs (https://vitalik.eth.limo/general/2022/01/26/soulbound.html), we apply this model to brand-consumer relationships to record every interaction onchain. this paves the way for interoperable consumer data - open banking for consumer goods and experiences is a good analogy.

itm already adopts this key-based architecture for moments and echoes offchain. by moving onchain keys we lay the groundwork for totally new onchain experiences to be built for consumers that extend beyond finance and transactions

the infrastructure is good now with cheaper transactions, embedded wallets, easy on ramps that we can take a big swing without introducing any of the friction that has plagued so many consumer applications of crypto that don’t revolve around speculation in the past.
