I'm sure on the exact stat, but it's something like for every $1 they pay an IRS agent, they get an back $26 in taxes that were owed. It's a ridiculously high ROI. This has never been about saving money for the government.

Funny tho, most government spending is usually about that impactful for GDP too!

So if you spend $1, get $6 in taxes, spend those… compounding effect!

And even if they weren’t cutting IRS resources, there is going to be so much more tax evasion now that they all received the signal that crime is legal.
