Saw BLUESKY headlines all over recently so decided to re-open bsky. While it is still mostly a blue anon cesspool, I saw a few interesting things... 1) DiscussingFilm, that popular film account from X, has built up almost 100k followers on bsky 2) Bsky "Feeds" feel similar to FC channels 3) Lots of "slop" accounts w/ tons of followers (e.g., https://bsky.app/profile/m1onlover.bsky.social) 4) Even seeing journalists like Dan Primack (huge X following, not really a partisan IMO) not just cross-posting but creating bsky-first content Makes me wonder about FC's path beyond crypto. While we've got our niches in art, cooking, photography, etc., a quick scroll through bsky shows their communities hitting different scale. Bsky playbook feels pretty clear: come for the political counterpositioning to X, stay for art/film/shitposts. Not a strategy that FC likely would (or should) embrace - but it raises the question: what's the equivalent wedge for bringing in the normies at scale?

I know that's been the strategy for a while now. What would invalidate that being the right path? And then 2) how do you convince a big CT account like Andrew Kang -- who soft quit X for TG -- to join here instead? https://x.com/Rewkang/status/1853573711770869854

1. We’re pot committed on crypto. No alternate path for better for worse. 2. When genuine discourse happens here. Big accounts are unlikely to be the pioneers because it’s a lot of work.
