for most of history, ethereum couldn’t exist. 
not just because the tech wasn’t there,
but because the world wasn’t ready. 

a system where no king rules
no gatekeeper grants access
no one decides what can or can’t be built

a kind of system that got people killed

for centuries the dream existed only in fragments,
a symbol carved into stone
a page torn from a banned book
a protocol burned before it could propagate

all because power fears anything it cannot own

hypatia’s blood stained the streets of alexandria,
galileo watched the sky alone,
alan turing was destroyed by the country he saved,
and cypherpunks were chased for publishing code 

they all touched the dream
but the world wasn’t ready

until now

not because we’re smarter
but because the flame survived long enough to reach us
