It’s funny too bc Gould apparently told him pre filming that he always wanted to play that guy and Altman responded “you are this guy”. He also said he thought they might have given him lung cancer with all the cigarettes smoked on the shoot. (That awesome car was also Gould’s own car!)

Hard to answer so generally. DM if you want to discuss further but generally important, early issues to consider: setting up some type of entity for liability protection, assigning relevant IP into it, agreeing on terms for cofounders/stakeholders, and planning for tax efficiency. Later as you raise capital, develop product, and bring to market you can address other relevant concerns.

Thanks @pichi . Social networks generally get broad licenses for posted content. Def should take note if you don’t want to permit these expressly listed uses. Note these don’t transfer “ownership” of the original content but grant a broad license for certain uses. Also note that it doesn’t explicitly include monetization as a licensed use in that snippet so that’s unclear. May be that the platform is more concerned about defending itself from getting sued for using the content as part of marketing materials for the platform than it is trying to take that content and sell it for profit.

I think I understand what you’re asking and it’s a good question. There’s a tension between just getting started building something to see if there’s traction before investing in legal and also getting the groundwork laid correctly and early to set yourself up to avoid obvious foot faults. Generally, if you can afford it, earlier is better. But certainly before any real value enters the story which can create complexity for tax, financial regulation, not to mention your own understanding of stakeholder status.
